Cloud cost optimisation was an important challenge — but far from the only one. In reality, the project for Livespace addressed a much broader scope. For the client’s rapidly growing business, it was essential to ensure that the infrastructure was scalable and reliable, while remaining easy to manage, modify, and extend in the future. The implementation of the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach successfully met all of these expectations.
Reduce monthly cost of using AWS services by 34%
OUTCOMES
Results of partnership
Cost Savings
34% reduction in monthly AWS usage costs.
Security
Improved security through enhanced configuration of the client’s cloud environment.
FinOps Approach
Greater cost predictability enabled by introducing a culture of financial accountability in cloud operations.
PROJECT
Genesis and business expectations
Livespace builds its product — a modern CRM system — on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Drawing on our previous experience in cloud cost optimisation, we proactively reached out to Livespace with a proposal to carry out an analysis that would serve as the foundation for designing and implementing a more efficient and secure AWS environment.
With the client’s approval, we conducted a thorough review of their infrastructure, focusing on reducing the monthly cost of maintaining the Livespace platform in the cloud. Our assessment revealed potential annual savings of over $48,000, with further cost reduction possible through continued collaboration and deeper database analysis.
The decision-makers at Livespace were engaged by the findings and open to further cooperation. As a result, we prepared a two-part proposal: first, to implement the changes identified during the audit, and second, to provide ongoing support and development of the AWS infrastructure. Ultimately, the client accepted both proposals — and the partnership continues to this day.

Who have we helped?
Our client has designed, built, and continues to develop a next-generation CRM aimed at boosting the productivity of B2B sales teams. Today, Livespace is one of the most popular CRMs for small and medium-sized businesses in Poland, and its unique capabilities — such as prioritisation and sales-closing support — are increasingly recognised by international companies as well.
Business challenges
- Identifying potential cost savings through adjustments to AWS configuration or usage;
- Developing and presenting changes needed to realise the planned savings;
- Analysing the current AWS environment and recommending improvements to enhance reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
ACTIONS
Project execution process
Review and analysis of the client’s environment hosted on AWS.
Scope and delivery model
We began by conducting a cost analysis of the client’s environment, focusing on the AWS services generating the highest monthly expenses — which accounted for approximately 90% of Livespace’s total cloud maintenance costs.
In the report summarising our findings, we recommended, among other actions, a reconfiguration project for the EC2 environment to eliminate unused instances, adjust server parameters, and revise cluster configuration settings. Additional recommendations included reducing Kubernetes usage, cleaning up legacy resources, and reconfiguring the backup mechanism.
Due to the client’s interest in our recommendations, we continued the collaboration in two key areas:
- Ongoing support and development of the AWS infrastructure, including assistance with FinOps adoption;
- Implementation of the changes proposed in the AWS environment review.
As a result, we formed a joint Livespace–Altkom Software technical team, which began to implement the action plan outlined in the cost analysis report. Since the client also opted for the infrastructure maintenance service, we have been continuously developing the AWS environment in line with FinOps best practices.
