PROJECT
Genesis and business expectations
Our client, stc, has been operating and developing an M2M platform for several years, enabling B2B customers to manage SIM cards used in IoT devices — including purchasing cards and managing data packages. For a long time, the platform functioned as a primarily back-end solution. While it met its core objectives, it lacked user-friendliness and process optimisation tailored to the needs and behaviours of end users.
As the platform is used mainly by corporate clients and employees of large organisations, stc’s management decided to initiate a redesign focused on improving usability and the overall user experience. Initially, they partnered with a UK-based company whose UX/UI team carried out early-stage activities, including product discovery and user interviews. However, after six months of collaboration, stc stakeholders felt that the mock-ups did not reflect either the company’s business goals or actual user requirements.
Due to dissatisfaction with the previous vendor’s outcomes, stc began searching for a new partner to take over the project and continue development. This led to the engagement of the digital product design team at Altkom Software.
