What did Altkom Software deliver for LMG Försäkrings?
Altkom Software has been working with LMG Försäkrings AB S.A., Polish Branch, since 2022. Over that time, we implemented the first system supporting the company’s insurance operations. The project included analyzing business needs, designing the solution architecture, and launching a modern insurance platform based on Altkom Insurance Suite and AWS infrastructure.
It is one of the largest core insurance implementations delivered in an AWS cloud environment in Poland.

Who is LMG Försäkrings and what does it insure?
LMG Försäkrings AB S.A., Polish Branch, is part of LUX MED Group, Poland’s largest provider of medical services. The company offers comprehensive health insurance products, including hospital insurance.

How was the core insurance system built and launched on AWS?
- System and process audit, including system analysis and assessment, identification of areas requiring optimization, and definition of key processes for selling and servicing group policies.
- System implementations:
- Group policy servicing, including, among other components, a Group Client Portal and a platform for insured members to submit declarations. The solution supports compliance with applicable regulations, enables flexible product configuration, and gives the client full control over the system’s further development.
- Claims handling, integrating claims management processes with the other areas of the insurance system while maintaining continuity of the existing policy administration system. This made it possible to safely launch a new functional area without affecting ongoing customer service.
- Design and launch of the system environment in the AWS cloud, ensuring high availability and secure data processing.
OUTCOMES
What changed after the platform went live?
- Continuous system development, including ongoing updates to functionality and documentation, as well as the implementation of business and regulatory changes.
- Readiness to support a growing number of customers and group policies; the solution currently serves more than 200,000 customers (certificates) in the hospital insurance area.
- Knowledge and competency transfer to the LMG team, strengthening its ability to develop the system independently.
- Appropriate configuration of the Altkom Insurance Suite platform and the use of a no-vendor-lock-in strategy, giving LMG full control over the solution’s further development.

For insurers, using public cloud requires appropriate controls for ICT third-party risk, including data processing and storage locations, access and audit rights, contractual safeguards and exit planning. Under DORA, responsibility for meeting regulatory requirements remains with the insurer.
